Beschreibung: Location: A ride uphill and downhill from Airolo to Hospental passing the Gotthardpass
Direction: Airolo - Gotthardpass - Hospental Degree of difficulty: easy, mainly bright road with good tarmac with a lot of road works (2021), the old route with cobblestones is pretty bumpy (Tremola), attention for fast cyclists, not to much traffic.
View: Coming from Airolo take a break at the bus stop Pian Secco Belvedere after changing from the old route with cobblestones to the new bright road and enjoy the view over the Leventina and Airolo. On the pass height of 2106 meters the next stop on the Albergo Ospizio San Gottardo is waiting for you - many motorbikes that need to look at and also the Suvorov Monument, which commemorates a furious battle in 1799 near the Devil's Bridge (Russians defeated the French).
