Description: Direction: Lungern - Airport Unterbach/Meiringen
Degree of difficulty: easy, good tarmac, a lot of traffic (incl. heavy traffic), interesting mix of corners
. View: First of all: If you ride the Brünig Pass from Obwalden do not drive through the tunnel before Lungern, take the junction to the village. The Lungerer Lake with his emerald green water color is an exceptional place for having a rest. The Brünig Pass connects the Hasli Valley in the Bernese Oberland (Canton of Bern) with the Sarneraa Valley in the Canton of Obwalden. It leads from the Bernese Oberland to Lungern or Giswil in Obwalden. The canton border runs about 350 m north-east of the pass. The village of Brünig, which belongs to Meiringen, is located on the pass. The pass road was opened in 1861 and horse mail ran over the pass from Brienz via Meiringen to Alpnach. The pass was very popular at the time. It has remained the same to this day. Source Wikipedia
